Fix FAILED transactions in Stripe: Payment declined by customer’s bank

Are you seeing Failed transactions in your Stripe account? It really put me through all sorts and while I knew I was getting a heap of them, I didn’t know why it was happening and how to fix it.

And then I fixed it!

There are different reasons a transaction will be seen as FAILED in stripe, including the common incorrect CVC number and Card number, but then there’s what I was seeing.

If you’re not from the USA like me, your Stripe might be registered under a non-US entity. For me, it was my Australian ABN.

When a US customer went to pay me for my product, their bank saw that it was going to go to my Aus entity, and then it was seen as being risky and the US banks were declining the transaction. I had to constantly email people to call their banks and have them ask their banks to allow the transaction.

After much of a headache, I fixed the issue, as discussed in this video.

Now I hardly get any FAILED transactions in Stripe for things like the dreaded “Payment declined by customer’s bank” message I was seeing (and maybe you are too).

Hey! I'm Grant Ambrose,

My WordPress website generates millions of dollars in sales each year and I put together this website to help you do the same

I believe that a lot of the time, we aren't doing things that will help our business NOT because we don't know how to do it, but rather we don't even know it is possible. My website aims to change this. My website is here to help show YOU what is possible - what YOU could set up in your business with WordPress to increase sales, automate tasks and (ultimately) turn your ideas into working WordPress solutions.
