There are different reasons a transaction will be seen as FAILED in stripe, including the common incorrect CVC number and Card number, but then there’s what I was seeing.
Are you seeing Failed transactions in your Stripe account? It really put me through all sorts and while I knew I was getting a heap of them, I didn’t know why it was happening and how to fix it.
And then I fixed it!
If you’re not from the USA like me, your Stripe might be registered under a non-US entity.
For me, it was my Australian ABN.
When a US customer went to pay me for my product, their bank saw that it was going to go to my Aus entity and that was seen as being risky and the US banks were declining the transaction.
I had to constantly email people to call their banks and have them ask their banks to allow the transaction.
After much of a headache, I fixed the issue, as discussed in this video.
Now I hardly get any FAILED transactions in Stripe for things like the dreaded “Payment declined by customer’s bank” message I was seeing (and maybe you are too).
