CommerceHQ or Shopify?! Are you new to the field of dropshipping? Or are you simply planning to switch to a better eCommerce platform, but are not sure as to which of the two you should use? If you are looking for credible answers, then that’s just about what you will get right here!

In this article, we are going to settle things once and for all — Commerce HQ or Shopify; which one is better for your dropshipping store?

A Quick Overview

The year is 2020. We are now in an era where most things can be done with more efficiency and value for money without ever having to perform most of the work. Yep, these days, a growing number of businesses, whether small or big, are venturing into the online space in hopes of getting more conversions and thus further expansion. And why not? An online business only needs a few tweaks here and there before it can go live and start sealing sweet deals.

The only possible problem you should expect is that you can’t run an online business on your own, regardless of how skillful you think you might be at it. Yes, you have a concept as well as an image of what you want your online store to look like, but who’s going to do all your coding and programming? How about your search engine optimization, or other eCommerce needs?

Fortunately, we are living in an era with advanced technology — and means all the help you could possibly think of are now available online!

If you wish to build an online store, the first thing you should be on the lookout for is a good eCommerce platform, and here we have for you two of the best ones in the market today. And if you must know, CommerceHQ and Shopify have long been compared to each other by many experts and their respective community members, which results to confusion for potential users.

If you are among those who are torn between Commerce HQ and Shopify, we are here to help you make that final decision! For this CommerceHQ x Shopify review, we are going to tackle their similarities and differences, as well as the pros and cons of using either one.

But before we get to our comparison, let us first have a quick briefing about what each of these two eCommerce platforms are.

An online store is established because its owner wishes to make money out of it. That is exactly what CommerceHQ is built for: conversions. This platform understands all your needs and has put together every single tool imaginable for you to craft the store of your dreams within minutes.

Similarly, Shopify was created to help users like you build their own eCommerce store without ever breaking a sweat. At a glance, this eCommerce platform offers more budget-friendly pricing plans, which comes extremely helpful for those who have but a few bucks to start and those who do not plan to spend tons when they are only at the beginning.

Commerce HQ vs Shopify: Comparison

So, Shopify? Or CommerceHQ? To which table should you put your money on? We understand that you still have some doubts and unanswered questions, so without further ado, here’s a detailed comparison between these two amazing platforms.

App Store

First off is the platforms’ respective app stores. This is where you will be getting tools and plugins that would provide tremendous support in your website creation process.

CommerceHQ: The platform comes with a huge set of FREE applications that are all ready for you to be utilized. So once you lock in that deal, you no longer have to pay for anything else.

Shopify: This platform also has a vast collection of apps, only they come with a price. Of course, if you want to have your website optimized to the fullest, you wouldn’t mind paying for these, and this nonchalant spending is one mistake that budding entrepreneurs are prone to make.

Commerce HQ Support vs Shopify Help

As previously stated, you can’t possibly do everything on your own when it comes to building and running an online store. That is when customer support comes in.

CommerceHQ: Quite frankly, CHQ’s customer service is a little outdated, with the team using a ticketing system in response to their users’ pleas. There’s also no phone or chat service, so you haven’t any other choice but to wait for your turn like everybody else.

Shopify: Everything CHQ lacks in terms of customer support, Shopify has in store for you. Their friendly CS team can be accessible via chat, phone call or email, and you get connected almost instantly (provided that there are not much people on queue).

Themes and Templates

Themes help give your website that vibrant (or sultry, if that’s how you want it) look and feel.

CommerceHQ: This platform’s theme store offers a selection of free themes and templates that you can easily modify to suit your taste. Developers can also utilize Twig to create and customize a template themselves.

Shopify: Unfortunately, Shopify does not offer you the option of modifying a template; you can only either select a free or paid predefined theme from their store, or hire an expert designer or developer to do the work for you, if you wish to go for full personalization.

Web Hosting Offers

Users can enjoy top-of-the-line web hosting from both platforms, so no longer will you have to worry about spending a little extra in order to keep your website from going offline during unexpected times.

Key Features

CommerceHQ: With CHQ you get the following and more (these are just some of the noteworthy features that any business-oriented person should be on the lookout for when choosing their eCommerce platform):

  • 99% Uptime
  • Automated Gift Cards
  • Advanced Reporting
  • Abandoned Cart Recovery
  • Checkout Page
  • Coupon Codes
  • Currency Converter App
  • CVS Export Builder
  • Inventory Management
  • Related Products
  • SSL Secure Checkout
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Unlimited File Storage
  • Unlimited Products
  • Unlimited Staff Accounts
  • Visual Store Builder

Shopify: Shopify offers different features for every one of its membership plans. Here are the ones that every plan has in common:

  • Customer support
  • Discount codes
  • Finance reports
  • Fraud analysis
  • Manual order creation
  • Online sales channels
  • Overview dashboard
  • Shopify point of sale
  • Staff accounts
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Unlimited online storage
  • Unlimited products

What’s more, if you want to have a section where your site visitors can enjoy a little entertainment or gain informative bits, Shopify has a blog module; sadly, CommerceHQ does not.

Conversion Assistance Features

CommerceHQ: CHQ offers multiple (and very useful) conversion assistance features and plugins such as its 1-click upsell, upsell campaign builder and other native apps that you can all get for free. However, this platform only accepts a limited number of currency types, and you might be forced to accept a single type for consistency purposes. Not a big deal, but it can be quite annoying for your customers if they see poor conversion rates.

Shopify: This platform also offers the features and plugins mentioned above, but they can only be accessed when a user upgrades to a better membership plan. On the bright side, Shopify supports far more types of currencies than the former, so your customers can freely use their local currency and not have to worry about conversion rates.

Basic Plans and Pricing

Here comes the most important part: the pricing plans. Will your money be worth it? Let’s find out.

CommerceHQ Pricing Plans

Starting at $99 per month, you can already create a single niche store and have all of CHQ’s tools and features ready to be utilized so you can start making those sales in the soonest time possible. An additional $200 grants you the ability to create 5 additional stores and even increase your monthly sales ceiling to $80,000 — an important thing to remember when you start scaling your business up.

WagePirate Exclusive: 3 Stores for the Price of 1

If you must know, WagePirate is offering an exclusive deal: sign up to CommerceHQ using this link and enjoy a sweet treat — the ability to create 3 stores for the price of 1! Yep, you can now put that $200 straight back to your pocket and still make up to $240,000 (that’s 80k x 3 stores!!!) per month!

What’s more, when you sign up to CHQ with us, you will instantly have access to my Pirate Club, where a library of over 1,300 winning products that are guaranteed to make you money awaits you. Said access will be valid for 30 days. Also included in the pack are advertisement copies and videos that are professionally shot and edited (and, of course, 100% SEO-optimized) and can be used for your Facebook advertising in a flash. So on top of the sweet discount, you will also be saving more in a sense that you will no longer have to hire a videographer and/or a video editor.

The Pirate Club also grants you an exclusive membership access to my private Facebook group where you can contact me for consultation and other inquiries, AND my private training course valued at over a thousand dollars!

Shopify Pricing Plans

Shopify works great for entrepreneurs with limited capital, as they offer a measly $29 monthly fee for their most basic plan. With it, you and a virtual assistant can already start creating and modifying your online store (with limited apps and features, of course). Keep upgrading and you will unlock various tools so you can maximize your use of the platform.

Discounts and Trials

CommerceHQ: This platform rarely offers discount codes; thus, what you will see on their pricing page is what you will have to pay for. It should be noted, however, that with Commerce HQ, the upfront payment is the only thing you have to worry about — this means that there are no hidden or additional charges, so, in a sense, discount codes can be deemed unnecessary. What’s more, CHQ offers a 14-day free trial for its new users such that they can get a taste of magic its without even having to open their wallets.

Shopify: Shopify users can benefit from discount codes that they can use to purchase various apps, features and themes, or even upgrade their membership plan. As for a free trial, as of date, Shopify offers a 90-day free trial with no credit card required.

Processing Fees

CommerceHQ: There is absolutely no processing fee when you opt to choose CommerceHQ. This means that you get to keep and manage every cent that your customers are going to send you. However, if you would look back at their pricing plans, there is a limit as to how much you can make per month, and this value increases only when you upgrade to a better plan. Your overall monthly income would then be limited by this ceiling.

Shopify: Much to our disappointment, Shopify charges a 2.9% credit card fee and up to $0.30 for each and every one of your transactions. Furthermore, if you have not activated your Shopify Payments, you might be charged as much as 2% per transaction — money that could be put to better use.

Ease of Use

As an entrepreneur, you would want to optimize your website to the fullest in order to gain those juicy organic traffic and conversions, without exerting too much effort. In terms of ease of use, how does each of our contestants fare?

CommerceHQ: If you are fond of traveling or just someone who is always on the go, you might find CHQ’s lack of a mobile app to be a disadvantage.

Shopify: Unlike its competitor, Shopify has a neat mobile app wherein you can modify and manage your eCommerce store anytime, anywhere. This makes it easy for you to access your website even in the most unexpected times.

Regardless, both platforms are very much intuitive and easy to use on your own, or with assistance via their respective customer support teams and documentation.

Let’s Wrap It Up!

We’ve pretty much covered everything you need to know about the two eCommerce platforms before you make your final decision. Both have their own pros and cons, but which of the them, out of all our criteria, gives you the best out of what you will pay for?

Shopify offers a cheaper upfront fee for its all of its plans as compared to that of CommerceHQ’s, but when it comes to its inclusions, the latter hands down beats its competitor. In a sense, with Shopify, your monthly fees will remain uncertain until you determine which apps, tools and features are necessary for the full optimization of your online store.

What is great about CHQ’s fixed (but mid-range) price is that even when the developers release new features, you won’t be paying for them anymore, as they will all get included in your membership plan. This allows you to manage your resources better and be assured that there will forever be no hidden nor additional charges.

In my personal opinion, the clear winner is…

And you can trust my word on this. I have been using CHQ for the past few years and it has brought me nothing but great joy to be able to create, modify and manage my stores, knowing that I can make money without even paying for any other hidden charges. I can also use its tools, features and apps at no additional cost.

Although Shopify beats CHQ in some aspects, there’s no denying that the latter gives me more value for my money. But as earlier mentioned, if you are starting out with a limited budget, then I would suggest that you stick with the former out until you earn enough and switch platforms only when you think you are ready to do so.
