In this post, I am going to show you how you can build a successful and highly profitable dropshipping or eCommerce store that is either built out of your passion, OR based on what is trending and what is selling well across your marketing platforms.
Creating the Best and Most Profitable Dropshipping Store
The number one advice that I can probably give you in this post is that the best and most profitable dropshipping store is a branded niche-specific one. But to be honest, I started with a general store filled with tons of different profitable products. From there, I filtered out which ones are making me the most money, and built a branded store out of that particular niche. I then proceeded to add products related to that niche and created an email list out of my patrons' (and other potential customers who are interested in my niche and the products that I am offering) email information.
Why the latter part, you might ask? My email list will serve as a backup plan for when paid marketing goes wrong or doesn't perform as well as I initially expected it to. With over 150,000 people on my list, I can, at the very least, assure myself that I have a good chance of getting conversions through email marketing (and the best part is, it's free!).
That said, your end goal when creating a dropshipping store should be for you to be able to establish an email list out of the people whom you share the same interests with, and find ways to connect and engage with them in order to effectively market your products without having to pay extra. This is the very key to securing stable and consistent revenue over time.
Let's take a look at an example:
Leafy Souls is a web store that focuses on "vegan apparel and accessories". Obviously, these apparel are not made of leaves as it would ruin the integrity of the products and overall the reputation of the brand itself, though I am assuming that this website's products use organic materials and steer away from those that leave carbon footprints during production.
Now, I don't know how long this website has been running, or if it is continuously launching ads across Facebook even up to this day, but here's what I can say based on what I see on their site: They have a pretty good following and have processed a lot of orders, as per their Customer Reviews section. It seems as though they found the perfect audience to advertise their products to, and they know that they can always reach out to them should they find the need to announce new product additions or promotions.
Furthermore, through my years of experience working with dropshipping products, there are some that can be well advertised via Facebook ads, and there are those that are a hit when being promoted via email.
Another thing that I should mention is that if and when you decide to go with this business model, trusting your gut right at the very beginning will not make any sense at all. That is, if you do find something that you are most passionate about, don't even try to sell it without doing your research. You might like this product, but what is your assurance that the worldwide audience will have the same feelings for it as you do?
The best approach to dropshipping is to rely on the facts and the data that is readily available to you. So let's say you have a particular interest for vegan products; look through Facebook and other platforms and see which products are making their respective sellers money. There is a good chance that these products are being sold in AliExpress, so use what you know to your advantage: do your research, sweet talk your suppliers into giving you a good deal, and go from there. And once you do find success in these products, only then can you expand your passion and add more and more products to your online store. That way, you can retain your store's theme of being vegan, make a profit out of it, AND still be able to work with what makes you happy the most.

If you're lucky, your entries might just make it to the top section of their search engines, thus making you one step ahead of your competitors and one step closer to having more and more conversions.
...okay, I lied. It's not purely up to luck. You need to add a little magic in, and that is something one might refer to as Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is when you will be optimizing your blog posts for them to be favored by search engine platforms above all else.
We're not going to go any further with this topic, but basically, SEO will involve you targeting some very specific keywords that you want to win at (rank number 1 on various search engine platforms such as Google and Bing) and require you to modify your blog posts by adding in some internal or external links, checking for grammatical or spelling errors, etc.
Sure enough, you won't be the only one using this strategy in an attempt to acquire free traffic -- and if you're only starting out, your competitors are probably already winning in it, although that's not to say there's no way for you to catch up. Also remember to build your email list and use every bit of creativity you have to explore new marketing angles and keep your audience engaged and curious for more of you and your products. Treat it as your ultimate backup weapon once you reach a certain point when things just don't go the way you initially planned.
