Welcome to a 5-Minute Friday post! Here, I go through a strategy or something that I am doing in my life (or within my businesses) that is generating me money online.
Today, we are going to go over a strategy that I used to generate more than $12,000 PASSIVELY. Although I had to invest a lot of time and effort during the initial stages, at the end of the day, I just sat back and watched as the money kept flowing into one of my dropshipping stores.

I won't keep you here for long. Grab a pen and paper and prepare for some note-taking, because you might just want to implement this strategy into your own business so you, too, can gain an additional source of profit without ever doing much work in the long run!
How I Made Passive Income
One method of advertising your brand and your products without having to spend on ads is by adding new posts to your social media accounts. Now, one might think that doing so is like a walk in the park -- that all you have to do is to take a simple photo and add a caption that would link the image to one of your products or your whole brand in general. And that is, by the way, the whole point of posting in the first place. Yep, it is actually that easy, but over time, you yourself might get bored and tired of the repetitive process. There is, therefore, a good chance that you would give up altogether at some point.
In order to prevent this from happening, it is recommended that you jot down all your ideas while they are still fresh in your memory and create a set of individual posts and save them for later. The only problem is, where would you stock them? It's not like there is some sort of post storage wherein you can grab one draft and post them whenever you wanted to. And even if there is, you would still have to check into your social media accounts every now and then -- this process would still eat up your valuable time!
Fortunately, there are softwares out there that offer automation services for all your social media posts, and that is what we will be discussing today.
Social Media Post Automation
The software that I used to automate my social media posts for my own business is called CoSchedule. Clicking through the link would allow you to sign up and enjoy a free 14-day trial, so you get to enjoy all of its tools and features without having to pay a single cent.
Get more done in less time with the only work management software for marketers.
Once you pass through the signup process, you can view your content calendar and start creating posts right away!
Creating Your First Post
On the calendar, choose a specific date when you would want to have your first post created. Click the plus sign > Social > Social Message, then select your preferred social media account. If you can't see a specific account, simply connect it to your account, log in, and you're already good to go.
Pro Tip 1
I would recommend you to do one piece of content each day for the next 60 to 90 days (totalling to 2 or 3 months worth of content). What we are going to do is to gather all of these and compile them into our library of posts, and CoSchedule will pick one (or two, depending on your schedule or settings) from there and automatically post them into your respective social media account at a specified time. See? In this software, there really is a post storage!
Going back, write down something that you would like the world to know about. As an example, I have created a Facebook page that is dedicated to traveling. So this page is dedicated to travel blogs. I added some facts and a link to the page of the product that I want to sell.
Pro Tip 2
The beauty of CoSchedule is we can actually track the money that we make from the posts that come out of it in Google Analytics. This way, we could get a clear idea of how much money we're making from this strategy.
Clicking through this link will redirect you to Google Analytics. What you want to do is to fill in the necessary details, after which you will be given a unique URL. Then, paste this URL to your CoSchedule post, and that's it. So whenever a customer clicks on the link, you can immediately gain data and determine profitability!

This tool allows you to easily add campaign parameters to URLs so you can track Custom Campaigns in Google Analytics.
If you go over to Google Analytics > Acquisition > Campaigns > All Campaigns, you can instantly see the campaign you have just set up, as well as how much money you have earned from it.
Then, go back to CoSchedule and click Other > Ad Content. Here, you can see which ad is making you the most revenue.
Lastly, add a custom image to boost your post's visual aesthetic and you're done. All you need to do now is to specify a time for when you want your draft to be posted. Click on ReQueue (details of which you can read below), and Add Message.
You've just completed the setup process for a single post! But as I've said earlier, it is recommended for you to create at least 60 to 90 posts at a time (so you can actually call your earnings as a passive income). Over at CoSchedule's menu and click on ReQueue > New Group > Placeholder Group. This is where you can specify a date and time for your posts. Click on Next, give your schedule a name and start scheduling your posts. So, what that ReQueue feature does is it is going to go over your library of post drafts, select one and automatically post it on your specified date of time. Think of it as your post manager, and all you have to do is to tell it when to push out posts.
Now, for every post that you will do, remember to add it to the schedule that you've just created.
Easy peasy lemon greasy! Passive income is on its way!
Let's Wrap It Up!
I really do hope you got a lot of value out of this post. Now you know how you can automate your social media posts so you get to save your time and energy for the more important matters of your business.
