How Not to Fail in Dropshipping
When it comes to getting the right mindset in order to achieve success in the field of dropshipping, the first thing that I want to point out and mention is that we as dropshippers (regardless of experience) are not trying to sell junk to people. We are going to be spending real money on building our website, on the people that would help us with our tasks, and on launching ads for our different products. Basically, dropshipping is focused on the idea that we are investing on our business now to be able to enjoy the many benefits that it would eventually bring to the table later on.
So, with that in mind, why should we waste our time trying to push out and advertise low quality products that even we would not even dare to purchase? Sure, with these kinds of products, cost of goods would be kept to a minimum, but what other good would they bring? At the end of the day, it's just going to be a real, massive headache for those who aren't fond of thinking long-term and trying to see the bigger picture of everything. When someone does purchase it off of your store, they would eventually realize and experience the kind of quality you have offered them for themselves -- the product might get deformed, or the paint might peel and/or chip away, or the fabric will tear and rip.
When you are out searching for China-made products (since you would want to outsource your dropshipping products from AliExpress, and the site is, after all, from a Chinese server), don't set your mind around the idea that you are trying to sell cheap, Chinese junk. In the first place, these Chinese manufacturers are crafting their products with the expectancy that us sellers would purchase from them AND offer said products to individual, potential buyers. And if they do want to make money out of what they are producing, they have to ensure top notch quality -- product authenticity, durability, aesthetics, etc.
Translating that onto our website and its performance in terms of sales and post-purchases, eventually, we would get a lot of complaints and our customers would want to get refunds due to the fact that they didn't get what they truly paid for. In turn, we would receive disputes on our third party payment processing systems such as Stripe and PayPal. And as our accounts are getting these accumulated negative actions from our customers, these platforms would deem our brand and our business to be a shady one, and would, in time, want to shut us down.
Moreover, Facebook recently added a new feature within Facebook Ads that disallow advertisers from launching their ads once it detects that the Facebook Ad account is receiving a lot of complaints and negative feedback -- and if you are unable to advertise, how else are you going to let the world know more about your products and your brand as a whole? It's not like your website will appear at the top of search engines -- the only time that would happen is when they would input your website's specific name or link.
At the end of the day, what we are only trying to do is to constantly build our brand and gain our customer's trusts by giving them exactly what they want and need -- and it starts with providing them with products that are guaranteed to impress at first (and preferably every) sight, and survive the test of time (if applicable).

How to Approach Dropshipping
So, how do you approach dropshipping the right way? We have just learned that a good business reputation only begins with the assurance that a particular product being sold is of stellar quality and will never disappoint. What comes next?
You also need to be able to follow up and provide the best assistance you could ever offer to your customers -- and yes, that means even after the purchase has been confirmed:
- Your website must be up and functioning as expected;
- Payment processing systems should be safe and secure to use;
- There must be clarity and transparency on your prices and other charges (no hidden fees);
- Customer service should be responsive, professional and helpful;
- Shipping times must be clearly stated (and if there would be expected or unexpected delays, customer must be well informed);
- Assistance must be provided even after successful delivery for any questions or further inquiries.
What I want to say is, you won't be able to reach that point of profitability without that high customer approval, first and foremost. And to do so, you just need to make and keep them happy.
